Gala Charity Dinner-raise funds for Mitochondrial Disease

ON.tv Channels are pleased to support Nalanie Chellaram who founded SIS ( Service in Satchidananda ) and who, in collaboration with AEPMI ( Association for Patients with Mitochondrial Disease) collaborated to raise funds to serve patients afflicted with Mitochondrial disease (Mito).

Day one was a extremely well attended Symposium on Mitochondrial disease in Pediatrics held in Malaga.

This piece covers the second day of the two day event – a Gala Charity dinner held at Alcaidesa Golf Hotel, on the 24th April. It turned out to be a very memorable evening which we are told raised over 30,000 euros.

As well as a 3 course meal all the supporters on the evening were entertained with performances by DanceWorks  and The Giving Theatre. There was also short talks from leading experts including Dr. Julio Montoya (Biochemist and Head of AEPMI Scientific Committee), Chuck Mohan from UMDF (United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, US) and Shani Bacarese-Hamilton  and Javier Pérez-Mínguez who will be speaking on the impact of Mito on families and AEPMI.
If you would like to contact Nalanie to help her in some way with this very worthwhile charity she can be contacted through their official website at: http://www.sisproject.org/
